She currently serves as Vice President of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education and is running for County Council to deliver real accountability, safer communities, stronger schools, and lower taxes (reword)
Dawn grew up in Prince George’s County and has proudly called District 7 home for almost 20 years. She has more than 25 years of experience spanning academia, industry, and government.
Her record speaks for itself:
● 23 years at the University of Maryland managing multimillion-dollar initiatives that created jobs, streamlined government, cut waste, and fought crime
● Co-founded the Maryland Crime Research and Innovation Center — funded by the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention and now the official research arm of the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN)
● At Lockheed Martin Corporate Engineering, she founded the Lockheed Martin Sustainment Institute — a nationally recognized model partnering with universities to better attract, strengthen and retain the next-generation workforce — and launched the company’s first enterprise-wide Sustainment Leadership Program
● Served as Senior Program Manager for the congressionally mandated $24 million Defense Civilian Training Corps pilot, building a highly selective pipeline of diverse talent into critical Department of Defense roles
● Elected to the Anne Arundel County Board of Education (District 7) in November 2024 and chosen by her colleagues as Vice President in December 2025 — fighting daily for improved academic standards, safer schools, stronger teacher support, fiscal responsibility, and more real-world pathways (college, trades, apprenticeships, and agriculture) for each and every student
