Dawn currently serves as Vice President of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education. A proud University of Maryland graduate, she brings more than 25 years of proven results in education, workforce development, public safety, acquisition/contract reform and large-scale program management. Dawn is running for County Council to address the rising cost of living, cut barriers for small businesses, ensure quality education and public safety resources, while managing growth responsibly. She will fight to keep South County rural while pushing back against overdevelopment in Crofton, Davidsonville, Riva and Edgewater.
Dawn, a lifelong Maryland resident, grew up in neighboring Prince George’s County. She has called District 7 home for the past 20 years and currently resides in Crofton. Her background is in public policy, and she is a graduate of the University of Maryland! GO TERPS! Her experience spans academia, industry, and government – 22 years at the School of Public Policy’s Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise at the University of Maryland, followed by roles in private industry at Lockheed Martin Corporate Engineering and supporting the Department of Defense.

For more than two decades, Dawn has managed multimillion-dollar initiatives, supported economic development, strengthened public safety programs, improved government efficiency, and built partnerships that create opportunities for Maryland families and businesses.

As Vice President of the Board of Education, Dawn knows what it takes to build safe neighborhoods and excellent schools where every student can succeed. She's committed to top-tier education for our kids and the manpower our county needs to keep streets safe and emergency services resourced.
